Standing hip flexion and rotation with mini band

It’s needless to speak about the importance of hip flexor muscles strength, mobility and flexibility in handball goalkeeper training. Because it’s so obvious how much we have to work on this group of muscles.

I admire the functionality and complexity of the hip joint, and I pay big attention to it in my work with handball goalkeepers!

Hip joint allows triplanar movements of the femur relative to the pelvis, as well as the trunk and pelvis relative to the femur, and all of these movements are possible simultaneously!

Here is just one (of endlessly many) exercises for strengthening and control of hip flexor movement.

Standing hip flexion and rotation with mini band

I love using mini resistance bands in my coaching work, especially in the first part of training where we are working on warm up and on activation of all important group muscles for goalkeepers.
