Double lateral push off step from the same leg

This is one of my new combo drills for lateral push off step, which we have done in Iceland on our first goalkeeper camp.

The first shot comes to the goalkeeper right low side, on the outside of the right leg (more exactly – from the right side of goalkeeper right leg), while the second shot comes from the inside of goalkeeper right leg – from the left side of goalkeeper right leg.

The idea is to first react properly on low shot to the goalkeeper right side, with making the first lateral push off step from the left leg. Immediately after that the goalkeeper has to make fast second lateral push off step with the same left leg to save the second low shot which will come between his legs.

Very common mistake in this combo drill is that during the reaction to the second shot goalkeeper makes lateral push off step with the “wrong” leg, meaning with the right leg.
Second common mistake in this combo drill is that the goalkeeper is making middlestep before the first low reaction, or middlestep before second reaction.

Try out this drill and let me know how did you like it!
